The purpose of these well-known Pilot sunglasses Shape was originally to protect pilots' eyes from harsh light. The US Air Force commissioned Bausch & Lomb to create a pair of glasses that pilots could put on and take off without removing their helmets or oxygen masks in the early 1930s.
