This image of Ellie Goulding performing at the KIIS FM 2012 Jingle Ball totally took my breath away. I don't know who's in charge of such things, but if I were her, I would make sure it was my next album cover.
There are three things I love about the shot: One, her hair, which is growing out quite nicely from the Skrillex-y side-shave she'd been sporting; two, her eye makeup—a shimmery gold lid and lots of mascara (seriously, her lashes are incredible); and three, her confidence. She is owning that stage, and it shows. (As Tyra Banks would say, she knows how to work her angles.)
In sum, the photo makes me want to be a rock goddess. Wonder how I could fit that in around my day job....
