Ever since those iconic lyrics rolled off of Ellie Goulding's tongue circa 2015 (read: "you're the light, you're the night, you're the colour of my blood"), I just knew she would be a British national treasure. OK, maybe it wasn't that mo' in particular but instead, the combined successes of her charting hits, distinctive voice and aesthetic, too.
Though, having said that, proving that with a natural progression in career, the latter (aka, her beauty aesthetic) has also moved along... yep, she's only gone and debuted a brand new haircut with her latest music release. I mean, it clearly ain't 2015 anymore.
Just a few days ago, Ellie was spotted greeting fans upon arriving at BBC Maida Vale Studios, where she would later make an appearance on Radio 2. And to make it one to remember, the singer underwent a major hair transformation, cutting extra extra short eyebrow-grazing pixie bangs into her (still somewhat) freshly-dyed tresses.
In November of last year, Ellie switched over to the dark side (quite literally), dying her bombshell blonde locks brunette.
As expected, it also didn't take too long for the look to arrive on our Instagram feeds. "Bangs entered the chat! 🤪 Do have a listen to my cover of Cara Dillon’s “She Moved Through the Fair” on Radio 2 via the BBC sounds app … really hope I did it justice! 🇮🇪 ❤️", she writes in the caption of her four-part post.
