Hail falls Monday morning in central Iowa
BUT NO, NOT GOING TO BE WORRIED ABOUT THAT TODAY AS WE START THINGS OFF SATELLITE AND RADAR. JUST GOING TO BE LOOKING AT THE RAIN MOVING IN TO PARTS OF THE STATES, MOSTLY ISOLATED, NOT GOING TO BE QUITE WIDESPREAD YET AS WE START OFF THIS MORNING AND AS WE ZOOM IN CLOSER TO THE METRO, WHERE WE’RE SEEING MORE OF THAT LIGHTNING ACTIVITY, MORE SO AFTON NOW TO THE NORTHWEST OF DES MOINES AND OFF TO THE WEST. BUT THAT’S WHERE WE’VE SEEN THE HEAVIER RAIN. AND NOW THAT’S EVEN STARTING TO DWINDLE DOWN. SO NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE AS FAR AS ACTUAL STORM ENERGY IN THESE QUALITY OF STORMS, BUT AT LEAST WE’RE STARTING TO SEE SOME MORE OF THAT RAIN AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY TO START OFF, AS WE GO THROUGH THE EARLY PART OF MARCH. RIGHT NOW, HOUR BY HOUR, SHOWING MORE OF THE CLOUDS THROUGHOUT THE STATE, THAT’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT. HAS MORE OF THOSE RAIN CHANCES STICK AROUND THROUGH THE MORNING GOING INTO EVEN THE AFTERNOON TIME FRAME, SO WE’RE NOT GOING TO CATCH A BREAK FROM THE RAIN. CHANCES, BUT IT’S NOT GOING TO BE CONTINUOUS RAIN. IT WILL BE MORE OFF AND ON KIND OF RAIN THAT YOU CAN EXPECT THROUGHOUT THE DAY. AS WE GET INTO THE EVENING, 6:00 AND BEYOND. LESS RAIN CHANCES EXPECTED, ESPECIALLY AS WE GO INTO TONIGHT. WE’RE GOING TO REALLY WATCH THOSE SKIES CLEAR UP AND WE’LL SEE MORE OF THE SUN AS WE GO THROUGHOUT TUESDAY, BUT IT’S NOT GOING TO BE LEADING TO MUCH OF A WARM UP AS WE GO INTO THE REST OF THIS WEEK. NOT REALLY GOING TO HAVE THE REALLY, REALLY ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. WE’RE STILL GOING TO BE ABOVE AVERAGE. NOT LOOKING AT ANY SNOW CHANCE EITHER. SEVERE OUTLOOK, BEST CHANCES OFF TO THE EAST. THAT’S WHERE WE’RE EXPECTING MORE OF THOSE WARMER TEMPERATURES AS WELL. BUT IT’S A MARGINAL CHANCES. ESSENTIALLY ONE OUT OF FIVE CHANCE FOR ANY SEVERE WEATHER. AND THAT’S GOING TO EXTEND EVEN FURTHER SOUTH. BUT NOT A GREAT CHANCE FOR OUR STATE AS WE START THINGS OFF. AND EVEN GO INTO THIS AFTERNOON, THAT WILL BE THE BETTER CHANCE FOR ANY OF THOSE STRONGER STORMS TO DEVELOP. WILL BE DEFINITELY THE AFTERNOON TIME FRAME. AS FAR AS RAINFALL AMOUNT. NOT LOOKING AT TOO MUCH AROUND AND BELOW A 10TH OF AN INCH FOR MOST OF US. AND THEN AS WE TALK ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT UNDERNEATH. THE THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO POP UP, WELL, YOU. OF COURSE, YOU COULD BE TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT MORE AS FAR AS ACCUMULATIONS CLOSER TO AROUND A QUARTER OF AN INCH. SCATTERED SHOWERS EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE TODAY. MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS IN THE MID 50S. THEN FOR TONIGHT WE CLEAR UP. WE DRY OUT. WE’LL HAVE LOWS BACK. DOWN INTO THE MID 30S. STAYING BREEZY THOUGH SO THE BREEZE STICKS WITH US TODAY AND TOMORROW. BUT AS WELL TODAY AND TONIGHT. TOMORROW IS ACTUALLY WHENEVER THE WINDS CALM DOWN. SO WE’RE NOT REALLY LOOKING AT THOSE STRONG WINDS. WE LOSE THE PRECIPITATION CHANCES AS TEMPERATURES STAY IN THE 50S. CLOUDS MOVE IN ON WEDNESDAY, SETTING UP FOR RAIN CHANCES BOTH THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS WE STILL STAY RELATIVELY COOL. HIGHS STILL IN THE 50S AND THEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WE DRY THINGS UP. WE CLEAR UP AS WELL, LOOKING LIKE GREAT CONDITIONS WI
