It’s pretty obvious by now that brilliant purple, green, blue, and even rainbow-colored hair has become more than just a trend: it’s the new normal. So there’s a pretty good chance that you’ve thought about dyeing your hair a bright hue yourself, but perhaps haven’t been able to commit to the plunge. After all, while a style like Katy Perry’s all-over slime green hair makes for a bold beauty statement, it’s not exactly the easiest shade to pull off (unless you happen to be Zayn Malik).
Yet we still remain completely intrigued every time a celeb debuts a new candy-colored hair look in search of inspiration. Enter Ellie Goulding, who’s figured out the perfect balance between experimenting with unexpected hues, yet pulling it off in a wearable and dare we say easy? way.
In her latest Instagram selfie, the star debuted a gorgeous pastel pink hair streak that sent us in a double-tapping frenzy this morning. While Ellie’s gone all-over pink before, this is the first time she’s updated her locks with color since chopping off her hair into a lob back in March.
It’s almost as if Ellie and her hairstylist have been taking notes on our comprehensive pink hair how-to. The singer kept the roots slightly darker and the ends lighter to make it feel more natural. Plus, her new ’do features varying shades of pink and peach infused together, which makes the style look all the more mesmerizing (not to mention chic).
She looks totally tickled pink, and who can blame her?
