January 18, 2025GREAT SO FAR-No issues except if the speaker sound is turned off, you will get a message saying 'Volume Control buttons are not supported for your currrent audio output device'. It took me a while, but noticed I had accidentally turned this setting off. If this happens, got to Settings>Sound>TV Speakers(at the bottom of the choice tabs)>turn this to 'ON'. It will now work! I have Xfinity so both remotes may do this if the Speaker switch is turned off.
I dont stream anything else-I hate Internet tv-i will only do Comcast/Xfinity which is live tv.
But i have all these other choices which cost $$ for subscriptions to other plans to get to what I watch, so why bother?! And, they all end up costing just as much for fewer station choices and lots of other problems that come along with those other choices like bad CS, things not working right, etc, etc, etc I'm not willing to give up and do. So I will just stick to what I know works fairly well as long as the Xfinity internet and Video service stays active!
Not worth switching to anything else, but I'm always checking so I can get rid of expensive Xfinity, but I only pay for 50mbps @$59/mo for internet and I usually get 170mbps, so I'm ok but always looking for a new company that doesn't nickel and dime you to death and is reliable and cheaper. Maybe this will happen one day......?
But I have found at this time of 2025, there's no way around this if you want reliable tv and TWC ('The Weather Channel', not just any weather information channel) and other stations with movies, live news & weekly series shows and updates.
I hate recorded news and non-new program notifications which is not current or up to the minute reality. 'I'm an 'in the know' kinda person...not going to wait to look around for it...that's nuts and a waste of time. I have better things to do!!

February 19, 2024This is probably the worst TV I have purchased in the last 20 years. The TV can not be setup to be just an over the air (antenna) TV. You can not disable the ADs that are displayed when you turn on the TV. If you are an Amazon fan this might be right for you. You can not use this as a TV without an Amazon account. It appears the only way to prevent in app purchases is to turn on parental controls and require a pin for purchases. This then requires the PIN for changing a lot of settings. The TV guide is interspersed with Prime Video ads. It takes going through almost every setting to minimize the AD experience (but you can not eliminate it.) Alexa comes built into the remote. I found no options to disable or restrict it and it really wants you to use it. More screen clutter than I have ever seen. The initial antenna setup failed several times and required multiple factory resets before successfully completing scanning. It starts with finding 46 channels and not ever completing the scan even though it said 100% (needed factory reset), then not to being able to even select scanning (again factory resets) before finally being able completing the scan. All of this was after multiple updates and restarts were performed until it appeared to be up to date. Online help was really on from community based forums which was mostly do another factory reset and start over, disable as many of the notifications and privacy sharing settings as possible. One final factory reset has been done, the TV is packed and get returned tomorrow.

February 10, 2024As my master bedroom is on a the small side I am unable to place a comfortable chair to sit in when I am watching TV. For that reason I decided to do double duty with my computer monitor as my study chair is comfortable. Works fine as a computer monitor . The way the legs are attached makes it easy to reroute cords when necessary. I like the layout of the built in firestick program which I find easier to understand and use than the ROKU attached to my main TV. At first I hardwired the TV to my router however after running speed tests I realized I was getting higher speeds going wireless Go figure? I found it easy to connect using the built in Wi Fi. I connected a small cheap indoor antenna and at first only got couple of stations. However once I connected the antenna to a cheap signal amplifier the TV was quick to find all the local stations with a strong reliable signal. The only real problem I encountered was I was unable to use the bluetooth feature to stream sound to the audio receiver I have in my study. It enabled me to turn the receiver on and off but no sound. Thankfully I am able to quickly move the cord for my computer speakers from my desktop to my TV quickly. If you want really good sound I would encourage you to get computer speakers or soundbar. Good buy at the sales price. Great buy at the open box price. Mystified why the Best Buy staff did not bother to wipe the fingerprints off the screen but only took a minute getting the screen clean

July 29, 2024Abosolutely happy with this TV. I bought 2 sets on sale, 1 for my guestroom & 1 for my office. The picture is great (very bright--I did lower the brightness & backlighting to about the middle of the setting). The Fire TV OS worked seemlessly with the built-in AirPlay & connected immediately to my iPhone to watch my cable tv service. I also have an over-the-air antenna & the tuner pulled in over 100 channels without any dropout or freezing. The sound is fine for a small space, would not use in a large den/living room. The Alexa voice-control has lots of commands. Initial set-up & updates take about 1/2 hour when you 1st turn on the TV, & I did have to login-in to my Amazon account to get the full services, but you can skip that if you wish. Love that you can add apps. Fire TV has an app called Silk--this is a web browswer you can use to look up anything, shop, get emails, etc... I know some internet reviews say Fire OS can be glitchy, but I suspect that has been resolved with these 2024 models. For an extra TV, it's a no brainer--buy. BTW--I have a friend who works for a large-chain furniture store & they use Insignia TVs in all the stores & display areas, so I assume they have a decent lifespan. Lastly, I did not like that everytime I turn on the TV it brings up the home screen. If you go to settings (display) you can set the TV to turn on to the last input you were watching when you turn off the set. You can download the apple fire TV app & it gives you the full remote on your iPhone or Apple tablet.
