A Solid 4
Taylor· Review provided by Target · September 22, 2024
I liked this book. I'm not one of those overly critical readers, so I give this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It's a very easy read. If I had the time I would have finished the book in a day or two. A lot of the "chapters" are literally 2 pages long at a certain point. Practically every major character in the book isn't a sole victim, and is a bit unlikeable; I don't mind this. After a big reveal in the later part of the book, certain things I made notes of about certain characters made a lot of sense. I was not able to guess how this book was going to actually end, and I'm excited to read the next book. My biggest gripe with the book is the main character and her lack of self preservation throughout the majority of the story. She was a convenient dunce throughout the book who stuck her head in the sand until she couldn't anymore. She lacked critical thinking skills and blatantly ignored red flags. At some point you have to use your brain and stop making excuses for other characters. I guess the main character has to be slightly oblivious, but it did get on my nerves. My recommendation is to KEEP READING until the end. I don't regret buying this book.
WHAT A USELESS BORING TRASHY BOOK!
Melissa· Review provided by walmart.com · December 23, 2023
This is nothing but brain dead useless boring low IQ drugstore soap opera SMUT! I can't believe people read this garbage! I got it in a gift bag for Christmas %26 yes the book mentions Christ MANY TIMES, not in Christmas but as a swear word! Books with no good storyline have to fill in a couple of chapters if all strung together of foul language as fillers. My intellect is insulted that someone actually thought I'd like this piece of useless trash(where it is now,in the trash). And for 12 year olds? What kind of parent gives this to their kid to read? No wonder they're so messed up! It has ZERO REDEEMING QUALITY! NADA! NONE! It is boring mindless junk that only a really stupid person would read because they have an atrophied brain! I say SKIP IT %26 do yourself a favor %26 read one of the THOUSANDS of fabulous books with real action, suspense, something of value, some intelligence, something to take away of quality! Your brain will thank you that you actually made it think! How embarrassing for those who have only this stupid trash to talk about! Believe me, you'll have to find other stupid people to talk with. Uninteresting trash. I wish I could get the time I wasted on a speed reading perusal of this toilet paper! Seriously, it is just junk.
My first Frieda read - spoiler free

The summary didn't seem like my kind of thing, but this book and author had so many amazing reviews I decided to give it a shot. This was by far the craziest book I have ever read. I had SO many theories throughout this book, and I could not have been more wrong about the plot twist. I never knew what people meant by "quick" or "easy" reads until reading this one. I normally have to reread several sentences a few times to process, but I was flying through this book and loving every second of it. I will definitely be picking up the sequels and more books by Frieda. I'm fascinated by how this woman's mind works to create such a wild, unpredictable story. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Great Suspense Thriller Book!

The Boyfriend is a great mystery suspense book. It has mystery, suspense, friendships, and romance. It is a fast paced read and It keeps you guessing until the very end. I read it in two days. It had a lot of surprising and shocking twist in it too. It is my third book of Freida McFadden’s I have read so far and I am looking forward to reading more of her books. As always with a Freida book you never know what to expect. Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for giving me a complimentary ARC of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.
