Before I make a purchase I like to research things and deciding to get a mini fridge was no exception. I learned far more about mini fridges than most would care to know BUT if you are looking for a quality focused product that runs great and is quiet then this is the one. It’s true that this is more expensive than many “normal”
mini fridges you can pick up anywhere but this is also produced by GE (many only have a brand name slapped on but are actually produced by another, sometimes far less reputable, company) and the quality is apparent. My only complaint is minor and easily fixed; the internal light when you open the door is not LED. Now you can swap it out with a LED to save both the power draw and the heat that the non-led produces. At the end of the day the fridge gets and stays cold, the freezer keeps things frozen, and the overall build quality (along with looks!) are great. No, this isn’t a cheap mini fridge but as with so many things in life you get what you pay for.

This is nothing like your college refrigerator with either no freezer of a tiny metal box that gets iced up. The freezer section holds 2 1.5L ice cream containers with 2 trays of cubes. You still have about 3 inches above the ice cream to put in packets of meat to freeze. The refrig section set up varies to what brand you buy. It will not allow 2 liter bottles to stand up. We took one shelf to give us more room fof large items, but all this is user dependent. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that we needed to set it on Max cold setting. It does take longer to cool things down. A thermometer registered 38 degrees in the refrig section. The ice cream is firm, not mushy. Gives us little leeway during hot times if that is an issue, is unknown . It does not have a compressor but does generate heat around the outside of the unit. I don't understand the mechanism to replace the freon. I am very happy with the unit. Lots of space, and as I alluded to, the freezer is a super plus.

I bought one of these as a high school graduation gift for my daughter back in 2016. She was going to be living in a dorm in college that fall and this one is one of the few out there that has a separate freezer door from the fresh food door. She graduated in 2020 and passed it on to my son who just graduated in May 2024 and the unit is still going strong. He gave it back to her and she is using it in her office now. Never had one issue with it and we are going on 8 years now.

So my husband works as a Internet Sales Manager at a car dealer ship and he likes to make sure all of his clients are happy and comfortable well they are at the dealership purchasing or leasing a car. I thought it would be a great gift idea to get him this little refrigerator to keep different kinds of drinks and snacks in so he can give them to his clients.

He loves having this GE Refrigerator in his office now, he has enough room in the fridge to put in many different flavors of soda, waters, and different kinds of snacks. What’s even better about this fridge is that it has a freezer too, he puts ice cream pops in the freezer for his clients as well because sometimes his clients have children that are with them, this GE refrigerator works out great! It’s the perfect size that it doesn’t take up a ton of room in his office, but it’s still large enough that he can put a lot of different kinds of food and drinks, he was so happy that I purchased this for him.

After the other coworkers seen how great it was to have this refrigerator in my husbands office was, a few of the other coworkers purchased one for their offices as well. So now they have 3 GE Mini Refrigerators in the building!
