Freezer crapped out after just over a month of owning it
Curtis· Review provided by homedepot.com · March 8, 2024
I bought this and wish I had read more reviews about the freezer. Mine works for a few days then it defrosts on its own. I’m not over filling it or anything. Very frustrating. What’s even more frustrating is they WON’T honor the warranty. I sent them three or four pics of what they asked for and told them what it was doing. They said they were going to send me a refund check that was a month ago. Still haven’t received it. Glad I put it on the credit card ….Would not recommend.

The fridge keeps food cold without freezing and the freezer actually keeps food frozen solid! This replaced a mini fridge that had the freezer door inside the fridge and it never kept anything completely frozen. The freezer on this one works much better for keeping food frozen.

Some other reviewers made comments about it getting noisy after a while, but this one is very quiet. It's at work, so not sure how it would be in a dorm room at night. I've only had it one month, so I'll see if it stays quiet.

Would've given 5 stars but the can holders on the door are not the best use of the limited space on the door. There's 3 plastic holders that only hold 6 cans and takes up almost the entire door. They are more likely to crack eventually when they could've just made a shelf with a bar across it. A real waste of space when useable space is at a premium. The freezer door has a shelf with a bar, so not sure why they didn't do the same thing with the fridge???

We needed additional storage for drinks & the Whirlpool 3.1 mini fridges were on sale. They fit perfectly side by side. They are still plugging along 10 months later.

The only two downsides to them:

1.There is only one temperature dial that runs both the freezer & refrigerator, even though they are two separate doors. In order to get the freezer to be cold enough to keep items frozen, you are forced to pick a temperature that more times than not freeze our canned drinks. We’ve had a few blow up inside the refrigerator, making a real mess.

2. Do not put canned drinks near the back of the refrigerator, as this causes them to blow up, as well.

P.S. NO beverages in glass bottles have blown up due to the liquid freezing.

Been using this since last Monday. So far so good. It does get very cold and some of my fridge stuff did freeze up. Lowered the setting from 6 to 4. It does not make lot of noise. The reason for only 3 stars is that it came in slightly damaged. There is a good size dent in the fridge door. There needs to be better protection inside the shipping box to prevent this from occuring.
